I love the Mini Motorways and the Mini Metro games, it’s challenging but doesn’t lack the fun. However, in both games, there are some logically/common sense things that the game doesn’t allow us to do. In Mini Metro, it’s awfully hard to play via a phone. Sometimes you are just trying to extend a line and the game thinks I am trying to start a new line; You can’t drag a line to connect a different station if that section is already connected to a station; You can’t re-draw lines in the middle, and you have to find the head/tail to go back and fix something; All these things distracts from actually solving the puzzle to trying so hard to get everything how I want them to be. There’s not so much in Mini Motorways… but there was something that kept bothering me… I’ll write another review if I remembers later. However! These are still some great games! I’ll be trying to find a way to get a higher score in motorways.

I’ve been wholly addicted to this game since finding it a few weeks ago. I love how simple it is on the surface but how challenging it can be, and it’s a great game to play while listening to audiobooks which are my favorite. There’s one thing that bugs me that I either can’t figure out or that doesn’t exist, and that’s around how to track whether I’ve gotten the goals for each city. I want to replay ones where I haven’t achieved all the goals, but I can’t tell which ones I have or haven’t completed. I’d also like if I could see my history on a level over time. The graph next to the Challenges icon seems like it should do that, but it’s just a blank list (maybe because I don’t have any friends who also play?). They’re small pet peeves but are the QoL kind of things that keep this from being a perfect 5 stars. Even something as simple as changing the color of the challenges button when they’re all complete would knock this game into 5-star territory!

I’m an avid sim city/City skylines ‘gamer’. I’m drawn to the construction aspect and moving traffic. This game is fun, LOADS of fun, so don’t get me wrong here: there is a horrendous algorithm that drops the same station type repeatedly and right next to each other (most prevalent is the circle station, 7 to 8 in a line?!? Woah….). There is such a thing as making a game challenging and a whole other thing making it discouraging, disappointing and extremely frustrating 75% of the time. I’ve opened every city, so it’s not as if I can’t play the game with success. I know that I can reroute and remake the lines, but when you’re starting out the game and all you have is one triangle, one square and eight circles…. nah. I play games for fun, not to tick me off more than my kid slipping out their bedroom window at night. Let’s get back to work and rewrite that algorithm so it is still challenging but doesn’t make me want to throw myself off a pseudo bridge (when I manage to actually g...
